The Climate Change Committee (CCC) estimates that decarbonising UK homes from 2020 to 2050 will require £250 billion, averaging £8 billion per year. Nature Society are fighting for a just transition.

ECO 4 – A vital though deeply injust system

The ECO4 scheme runs from 1st July 2022 and 31st March 2026, committing £4bn funded by UK Energy Companies. However, there is no meaningful safeguarding for homeowners: homes and health are at risk.

ECO 5 – Urgent changes needed to protect nature and society

Nature Society is working with other organisations to ensure homeowners’ voices are heard, vulnerable people protected, and accurate data recorded for all upgrades.

Nature Society was founded from the knowledge that nature and society must thrive together. For this to occur, social and environmental justice must prevail. However, all too often, the systems we depend upon to protect us, are the ones that fail us.

Our role is to highlight issues and improve outcomes, from the perspectives of unheard voices – including nature itself.
